Took a stroll from Beach Road to Raffles City after collection my $50 dining voucher at Lexicon. As it was the eve of the F1 celebrations, a majority of the roads were closed and the bus services were diverted. Hence, decided to take a stroll to Raffles City and enjoy the sights of Singapore since I have all the time in the world at this point in time - one of the benefits of being unemployed.
I realised recently that I have a soft spot for such old places. One of dream is to stay in those black and white colonial houses.
This place is a beauty.. Hai.. Too bad it is already up for sale...
This is the Hainan Clan Association. My mum wedding dinner was held here...
There were pre-F1 preparations made.. Stickers such as those below can be found easily...And, there were some Fiat limited edition cars parked outside Raffles Hotel... There are those in white...Yellow..And Red...After that stroll, went to Sushi Tei for dinner, where I had my thick slices of Salmon Sashimi and Garlic Fried Rice. Those were my every meal highlights...
Besides these, dishes such as Ebi Mentaiyaki, Phoenix Roll, Dragon Roll, etc are very good. In terms of sashimi, Sushi Tei is a pretty decent place to go if you value good quality and thick slices of sashimi. Places like Sakae, Ichiban and Yotei have cheaper sashimi but somehow the slices are quite thin as compared to Sushi Tei (does not give you the urmph feeling).
Went for a pre F1 celebrations organized by ZO cards. Accenture also have an event at Arena on the same day. Pretty weird though as there were only 1 stage and 2 different events...
Our complementary glass of beer...The miniature F1 car outside The Arena...
