I have heard many reviews about this restaurant.

There are many outlets in Australia and I went to The Rocks outlet at Sydney.
This restaurant is set up by an American, Roger Meadmore. He wanted to bring the pancake obsession to Australia, where one can eat pancakes with anything(just like how Australia eats toast).

The menu is interesting. You can opt to have pancakes as a :

1. Traditional breakfast
2. Dessert, 
3. Mains (paired with beef, chicken, mushrooms etc)

I ordered The Dawn (AUD 13.50), which is hash brown with scrambled egg, bacon and grilled pineapple.

Will I come back?

Definitely. The bacon is crispy and delicious. When paired with the grilled pineapple, it is so heavenly. It's value for money as the portion is huge.

Decided to try out Epicurious as we've been to many breakfast places recently and with our great experience with Wild Honey, decided that there would be other places which served good breakfasts.

Unfortunately, in our opinion, this place din't live up to it's name, we read a number of good reviews in magazines so we had our hopes up. Called the usual steak and eggs benedict so that we could try a similar dish as compared to Wild Honey. 

Eggs benedict was well.... Ok..... bread served with the eggs benedict reminded me of the Macdonald's muffin. Doesn't come with the usual parma ham which I'm used to, comes with an option of either smoked ham, smoked salmon or smoked... (forgot the last one.)

Steak was pretty small. Just a small bit of meat with toast and eggs. Abit =_=

In my opinion, I could get a lot more for a couple more dollars.

We've been here before. Wild Honey. Although the last time I went to the one at Mandarin Gallery. Also reviewed in an earlier post. This round, however, we went for a nice HARDCORE steak early in the morning. A 240gm Australian breakfast and the usual eggs benedict. 

As usual the eggs benedict were perfectly done with the egg yolks all nice and runny with the wonderful brioche bread baked in-house at wild honey.

The highlight of this post is definitely all about the steak. Not the best steak I've had but still something to mention about. A great start to a day. Assuming you can finish the whole thing without any problem. I believe most others might not be able to finish the meal easily thou. But seriously a nice healthy chunk of meat, an egg, potatoes, mushrooms and a nice strong coffee is truly a great way to start the morning. 

Would highly recommend the Australian breakfast to anyone who's up for the challenge.

Prata Place - Springleaf Garden - Part 2

This is my second visit to Prata Place @ Springleaf Garden.

Prata Place Springleaf Garden

This time round, I ordered the Chicken Floss Prata. 

This is not just a simple prata, sprinkled with chicken floss. 

Rather, it uses the murtabak layering and there is lots of floss inside this layering. 

It slightly harder than the normal prata, chewier and more filling. 

A good place to go for a sinful breakfast!!!

Wild honey - Part 2

The second time we went (which is on the same week), we ordered something different. 

My boyfriend ordered the English set, which is the typical English Breakfast. 

I ordered the Tunisian, which consists of a sizzling pan of red pepper, onion and tomato concise (stew) studded with sliced chorizo sausage and crowned with two fried eggs.  

I would still prefer the European set as I do not really fancy spices and this is heavily used in this dish.

Will definitely come again, but I will still stick to my European set. 

Wild Honey is located at Mandarin Gallery. 

It is extremely crowded during weekends. It opens as early as 8am on weekends. 

However, there is a new branch at Scotts Sqaure. 

Hopefully, the queue wont be as long...

Wild Honey - Part 1

It has been some time since I last updated this blog as I was busy with work, then countless birthday celebrations, followed by Christmas etc.


During this period, we went Wild Honey on two separate occasions.
The first time we went was on my boyfriend birthday.



He ordered a Californian. I do not really fancy peppers so I do not really appreciate this meal.
But, my boyfriend likes it a lot as the portion is huge and it is very good. 

While I ordered my all time favorite - European,  which is Wild Honey version of Eggs Benedict.
I love the brioche bread - thick, crispy and chewy.
When you pair the brioche with the oozing yolk and parma ham, this is pure decadence.

My Ramblings...
This place is definitely worth going. 
Each item on the menu is intricately prepared and is definitely worth every cent of it!

Will definitely go again.

Breakfast @ TCC

Went for my brother's passing out parade last Sunday and had breakfast at TCC at 9am in the morning.

For an additional $2, you can have a coffee or tea.
For an additional $3, you can have a juice and coffee or tea.

My Ramblings... 
The food at TCC is good.
Presentation is appetizing.

One observation about TCC (after trying out various branches in Singapore) - their restaurant operations is badly organized.

Regardless of which branch, when the place is semi packed, you will notice that the food/drink will take longer to arrive and service will deteriorate at that point.

A bit wasted as this can be rectified

My Ramblings...
The food was good.
The prata was hard and crispy and there were lots of curry provided.
The only problem is the operations was terrible.
The food was ready but the staff took a long time to serve them due to the crowd.
But, we will definitely come again.

They have interesting specialty pratas, like Mushroom & Cheese, Chicken Floss etc.

My weekend indulgence

This is my weekend routine - a nice cup of Kopi-O and a plate of bee-hoon + mee + chicken wing + luncheon meat

And of course, carrot cake. One of the best carrot cake. I loved the tiny prawns found in it and of course, I have eaten this since young. Same for the bee hoon mee...



Rating - 10/10 (Nothing can be compared to the food you ate since young, right?)

The food can be found in Tampines Street 11 Round Market. This place was featured in last Sunday newspaper - reportedly to be the best market or something.

Their kway chap is good as well. The above two dishes are my all-time favourite.

Breakfast @ Coffee Bean

Went for breakfast at Coffee Bean the previous week. Ordered the waffle set which I have always wanted to try. This set is not available at the Coffee Bean outlet near my previous workplace and hence wanted to try if this is good?
