Things I learnt in Australia

Marron ~ Refers to large freshwater crayfish found in Western Australia. Its taste is similar to lobster.

Barramundi ~ A common fish served in Australia.

Atrium Restaurant

This place supposedly serves one of the best dinner buffet in Perth and is located in Burswood.

My Ramblings..

The restaurant was packed.
Apparently, their buffets are always packed. Reservations has to be made few days in advance.

Did not find the buffet spread to be fantastic though.
Maybe I am just too used to "The Line" back in Singapore...

We ordered wine,



Our Entree - Shark Bay crab cake, crab, bacon & asparagus salad, tartare sauce



For main courses, we ordered 2 fish mains, namely,
1. Roasted red emperor, chorizo risotto, soft saffron aïoli, red pimento crust
2. Ocean trout, beetroot and orange purée, beetroot and fennel salad, blood orange dressing






And of course, no meal is complete without desserts!!!

I am in total bliss...

Margaret River Chocolate Company @ Swan Valley

At the entrance, one can grab a handful of either milk, white or dark chocolate while they browse the shop.




There's also viewing for the chocolate making process...


We also had a sumptuous breakfast there. There's an option of fried or scrambled eggs. Both look equally delicious.





And, top up with a coffee...

A nice place to spend a lazy day.
Would love to try their chocolate fondue on my next visit!

The Equinox Cafe @ Busselton Jetty

This cafe is located on the foreshore of Busselton Jetty at the end of Queen Street.

In addition, the price is quite reasonable.
Approximately AUD25 to AUD35 for a main course.

The Best Fish & Chips

There are two famous restaurants proclaiming to be the best fish & chips in Perth, well, we have tried both of them:

1. Cicerello's - WA No. 1 Fish & Chips

Clam Chowder

Traditional Fish & Chips

Fresh Oysters

Kilpatrick Oysters

Cakes

Eclair

2. Kaili's - Voted the best fish & chips

They have two counters - one serving the fresh and bbq seafood whilst the other served fry seafood.

We ordered the Kailis Seafood Platter set, consisting of 2 fish fillet, 4 prawn cutlets, 4 squid rings, 4 scallops, chilli mussels with chips & salad.

I would personally prefer Kailis as their batter is thin and less oily.
