My Ramblings...
This is better than the buffet spread served at First World at Genting Malaysia. But, in terms of hotel buffet, this is not what I expected.

It was very crowded and people were constantly queuing for food. The staff at eggs station was not able to cope with the crowd.

But then again, for $28 per person, I guess I should not expect a lot.

One Ninety at Four Seasons

What do you when you have a day off?

Explore some interesting buffet places.
Initially, my friend and I wanted to go for high tea at Raffles Hotel but it was fully booked. I am not surprised as I should have made the booking a week earlier. My fault.

As I always wanted to the buffet spread at One Ninety at Four Seasons, I took this opportunity to book their buffet lunch. One Ninety does not serve buffet dinner on weekdays. They only serve semi-buffet lunch and brunch.

The semi buffet lunch cost approximately $48 and this includes a main course, inclusive of appetizer and dessert buffet.

Guest are served with bread and daily soup, which was mixed vegetables.

Food from the appetizer buffet. They have duck liver pate, drunken chicken etc.

For main course, I ordered the Kurobuta Pork Chop Milanese Style

Served with San Marzano Tomato and Shallot Salad

My friend ordered the Wagyu Rump Tagliata

My Ramblings...
I love this place.

This is not the place where you gorge yourself to make the buffet worth it.
This is the place where you can sample various food for appetizer and dessert, savour a sumptuous main dish of your choice, enjoy free flow of coffee, tea and fruit juices and of course relax in a nice ambience.

The manager made our dining experience enjoyable. Although the other staff were not very good, the service rendered by the manager is sufficient to make us feel pampered.

Will definitely recommend to try this place for people who enjoy the finer things in life.

Rise @ Marina Bay Sands

Went for buffet dinner at Rise at Marina Bay Sands.
They do not accept reservations and guests are served on a first come first served basis.

Seafood

Sashimi, Scallops and Foie Gras Pate

Chilli Crab and Lamb Shank

Laksa

More Foie Gras

This is how you eat it.

My Ramblings...
So far, this is only buffet places that I have been that allows guests to enter the restaurant before the buffet begins. I am impressed that they are the first buffet that I have been that serves foie gras pate on a buffet dinner.

The food is reasonable but the type of guest it attracts isn't.
There is this old uncle that rushes to the buffet line to grab all the good food (somehow he does not appreciate foie gras). And there is another rich guy who screams at the service staff because of a mistake that they make.

The place is constantly crowded but I guess that is the way casino hotels work.

Cova Pasticceria

Recently, I have developed a penchant for high tea places.

During the weekends, place which serve international high tea are usually fully booked.
Hence, on one Saturday, I came across Cova Pasticceria, located at a quiet corner at Paragon.
I love this place - not very crowded even though it is weekends.

Came here twice in the same week - one with my family and the other with my friends. =)

Shop Front

During my first visit, we ordered the Classic and Imperial High Tea set.
The Classic High Tea set consists of sandwiches while the Imperial High Tea consists of cakes.

And of course, coffee and tea to pair with them.

My Ramblings...
A good place to hang out with friends as it is quiet and cosy.
Will probably visit here again if I do not get bored with the spread.

Did you know that Cova Pasticceria is a brand under the Wing Tai group.
Cova Pasticceria was founded in Milan by Antonio Cova in 1817.

My Ramblings...
I like this place. The variety may not be as wide as most places but the food served is good.
There are items that we can munch on anytime - abalone, soup, sayuh lodeh etc.

Although they only serve 1 boston lobster per person, it is cooked very well.
I rather they restrict the servings than to cook it slipshod...

In terms of price, it is reasonable too, approximately $43 per person.

Will definitely come again.

Pre Valentine Day - Part 1

The first thing that we usually do on a weekend - Go to Isetan in the morning.

It was the Kansai Fair from 8 to 17 February.

The shop name is Teppanyaki Ichibanboshi.

We added toppings like scallops and octopus.

Osaka Ikayaki with Egg
The shop name was Ikayaki Yamagen

Pancake

Next, we went Resort World Sentosa to do a few things...
The CNY were beautiful.

And there were horoscope all around.

One of our to-do list - went to visit Valentino Retrospective.
Got two free tickets...

Some of my favourite pieces...

Next, we went to Tanjong Beach Club. I ordered the Tanjong Martini (consists of vodka, lemongrass and apple juice).
