High Tea Buffet: (Sat – Sun)
12 noon - 2:30pm (First seating); 3.00pm – 5.30pm (Second seating)

=======================================================

Tea Lounge is one of the most popular high tea buffet places in Singapore.
The high tea buffet is served during weekends only. There are two seatings available, i.e. 12pm to 2.30pm for the first seating and 3pm to 5.30pm for the second seating.

After hearing so many reviews, I have to give it a try! It cost $58++ per person.
There are few key highlights that I love:

  • Roast wagyu rump with yorkshire pudding.
  • Asian Corner (i.e. laksa, satay, yam cake etc)
  • Cakes (especially the rainbow cake with cream cheese!)

And of course, lots of sandwiches, smoked salmon and scones with free flow of coffee and tea. You can select any 2 beverage type, i.e. coffee, tea or hot chocolate. For coffee, it is unlimited servings. However, if you decide to switch to tea midway, you cant order coffee again.

Will I come back again?

I will definitely be back again! The only downside is that they only have their buffet on weekends only. Ambience is great and its definitely the place to book for an afternoon out with the girls!

Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons (Post Wedding)

Afternoon Tea @ Four Seasons Hotel

+65 6734 1110

===========================================

Just after the wedding day, we went for an afternoon tea at Four Seasons. The afternoon tea cost SGD 38 ++ per person. This includes choice of TWG Tea or Illy Coffee. There are also other options, i.e. cocktail tea (i.e. SGD 58++ per person) or champagne (i.e. SGD 68++ per pax)

Some of the highlights are homemade rhubarb scones and tea cakes, served with rose petals  strawberry preserve, lemon curd and Devonshire clotted organic cream.

A three tier was served and there are unlimited refills allowed.
So if you are a heavy eater of scones and cakes, this is the place to go!

Will I come back?
This is a nice place to escape if you have an afternoon to laze around.
And a must go if you love lots of finely prepared scones and cakes.

High Tea @ d'Oracle Coffee Lounge (Putrajaya Marriott)

The high tea set cost RM 33.50 (which is approximately SGD15)

The tea comes in a gigantic pot, which is only a quarter full.

Cova Pasticceria

Recently, I have developed a penchant for high tea places.

During the weekends, place which serve international high tea are usually fully booked.
Hence, on one Saturday, I came across Cova Pasticceria, located at a quiet corner at Paragon.
I love this place - not very crowded even though it is weekends.

Came here twice in the same week - one with my family and the other with my friends. =)

Shop Front

During my first visit, we ordered the Classic and Imperial High Tea set.
The Classic High Tea set consists of sandwiches while the Imperial High Tea consists of cakes.

And of course, coffee and tea to pair with them.

My Ramblings...
A good place to hang out with friends as it is quiet and cosy.
Will probably visit here again if I do not get bored with the spread.

Did you know that Cova Pasticceria is a brand under the Wing Tai group.
Cova Pasticceria was founded in Milan by Antonio Cova in 1817.

Royal Coppenhagen

After shopping, we went to Royal Coppenhagen for tea.

As you can see from my earlier post, I have this soft spot for places that use nice dinnerware, especially those that you will not buy just to use it at home. Fancy a $100 plate to be used at home? (You know what I mean?)

Ordered a Darjeeling Tea

My Ramblings...
I am not impressed anymore!

They do not allow two people to share a pot of tea. And they kept insisting that the tea is meant for one person. I still remembered how hard it was to finish one pot of tea by myself. Then I realised that the amount of water has been halved.

Will prefer to go to Shangri-La anytime.

I love this place!
Ambience is great and it is very value for money.
Although the cutlery used was not Wedgewood, I am not complaining as I loved the pink flowers cutlery from Haviland!

I have done some research on the tea set.
This collection is from the Rose Centifolia.
A 5 piece place setting cost about USD237.

It is so beautiful!

Lunch at TWG Tea

Met up with ex-collegue for lunch last week and we went to TWG Tea at Republic Plaza. Both of us ordered their set meal of the week. The set menu comprises of a main dish, tea and dessert.

Main dish.. Something like sashimi with chopped onions with bread. A bit too light for my lunch though but understand from the waiter that their main dish changes every week.

Tea (similar to green tea. just a different variant)

Dessert (I do not remember what is it made of. All I know is that this tastes heavenly. The top crust is crispy and sweet and the cream is not too sweet yet rich. The crust at the bottom just ends it perfectly)

My Ramblings...

This is like one of the rare times where I will recommend this place even though I am upset with their service. Their waiters fall into two categories - one that know their stuff very well whereas the other just serve a customer because this is their job.

I was served by a waiter from the second group. I was quite cheezed off because:
1. He refused to let me change my tea,
2. "Blamed" me for not telling him earlier
3. When he FINALLY allowed me to change my tea, he charged me the full price of the new tea. I was like you might as well tell me I can't change -_-

Well, the dessert made me changed my perception of this place. And, when I went to their gift shop, I was very impressed by the tea knowledge that one of the waiter knows. He was the one who brewed the tea and knows every single tea in the place (Some background - the whole exterior of this place is nothing but different type of tea from different places. There is even tea on a year basis type).

Final conclusion - Choose the right guy!

Tea @ Intercontinental Hotel

Met with my friend at Bugis few days ago. Went to Ma Maison for lunch followed by tea at Intercontinental Hotel - Aroma.

Forgot to take pictures of my lunch.. Will do so next time. We ordered the seafood platter and escargots.

For this set, a slice of cake and a cup of coffee is at 11.80 nett. Yummy!
