We have passed by this cafe many time during lunch but have yet to try out the food. 

The interior of the shop was very interesting as it was decorated with vintage tables and chairs. 

ReStore also sells vintage furniture. You can also choose the colours of your vintage chair. 

ReStore is located at 124 Tanjong Pager Road and they are open from Tuesday to Sunday. 

The opening hours are:

Tue to Fri : 11am to 7pm

Sat and Sun: 11am to 6pm.

In terms of food items, it is fairly simple. They serve waffles, bagels and drinks.

Tian Fu Teahouse @ UOB Plaza

Went to Tian Fu Teahouse for tea during one of the weekends...

The layout of the place was cosy.




We ordered the Imperial High Tea set. It cost $18++ per person. This set provides tea pairing with various dishes. The menu changes every now and then. At that point when we went, the dishes served is as follows:

Baimu Dan Tea

Steamed Rice Cake with Minced Prawns

Pan-fried Yam Cake and Waxed Meat

Panfried glutinous rice cake bun with conpoy

A good place to go for tea lover or if you are looking for a place to meet up with friends and enjoy the skyline of the flyer.

The Queen & Mangosteen

Went to The Queen & Mangosteen for tea after having dinner at Akashi.

We ordered Fried Chicken Wings with Hoi Sin sauce and White Chocolate with Cassis Cake with Triple Chocolate Ice-cream and mixed berry sauce.

Paired with a nice cup of coffee..

Coffee Club Express @ Clarke Quay

After dinner at Waraku, went for a walk at Clarke Quay and went to the Coffee Club Express.

And we ordered this... I forgot the name though.. remembered the description is banana tart..

My Ramblings...

I could not stand their service. The staff does not know the cakes in the display. Isn't it the first thing you should know. Not one staff but two. They had to literally find me the person who knows something about the cakes. And the response I had was "This is chocolate", "This is coffee", "This is cheesecake".

And, the place was so stuffy although they had the air-conditioning....

I would prefer TCC anytime...

Lunch at TWG Tea

Met up with ex-collegue for lunch last week and we went to TWG Tea at Republic Plaza. Both of us ordered their set meal of the week. The set menu comprises of a main dish, tea and dessert.

Main dish.. Something like sashimi with chopped onions with bread. A bit too light for my lunch though but understand from the waiter that their main dish changes every week.

Tea (similar to green tea. just a different variant)

Dessert (I do not remember what is it made of. All I know is that this tastes heavenly. The top crust is crispy and sweet and the cream is not too sweet yet rich. The crust at the bottom just ends it perfectly)

My Ramblings...

This is like one of the rare times where I will recommend this place even though I am upset with their service. Their waiters fall into two categories - one that know their stuff very well whereas the other just serve a customer because this is their job.

I was served by a waiter from the second group. I was quite cheezed off because:
1. He refused to let me change my tea,
2. "Blamed" me for not telling him earlier
3. When he FINALLY allowed me to change my tea, he charged me the full price of the new tea. I was like you might as well tell me I can't change -_-

Well, the dessert made me changed my perception of this place. And, when I went to their gift shop, I was very impressed by the tea knowledge that one of the waiter knows. He was the one who brewed the tea and knows every single tea in the place (Some background - the whole exterior of this place is nothing but different type of tea from different places. There is even tea on a year basis type).

Final conclusion - Choose the right guy!

Followed by my all-time comfort food at Kuriya - Kaisen Nabeyaki Udon. Cost about 30 plus or so.. Love this meal because of the Ingredients!! One of the best nabeyaki udon that I have ever eaten!

It has prawns, clams, scallops, beancurd, mushroom, seaweed and egg - What else can I ask for? I have tried places that served lobster nabeyaki, somehow Kuriya still stands out. Oh.. They used orange peel in their soup base...

Proceeded for tea at The Cookie Museum, formerly known as V Tea Room. I am quite impressed with their "selling" though. Quite interesting on the history of this place.

I chanced upon this place four years ago. Then, they were selling cakes and tea (different types). They also serve Singapore favourites such as curry chicken etc. At that time, they have those dainty looking tea cups but somehow you will get those if you order certain drinks... I never figured out which though...

Brought a couple of friends there to try though. Overall experience pretty good. At that point in time, a decent cup of coffee or tea will set you back about 7 plus or so.

1-2 years ago, went there again with my friends.. Was so shocked when I saw the menu. It was like "double" the price for the same item. Left there and then... Din really feel the value of it...

Recently, decided to give it a try again cuz they have re-branded themselves again. Well, drinks remains equally expensive.. But, they have included an additional selling point - selling biscuits! You sip your tea. The waitress will then bring out a tray of biscuits for you to sample... Interesting flavours though - Flowers based, Singapore dishes (Chilli Crab, Nasi Lemak etc), Fruity etc...

I am quite impressed with their marketing strategy though. The possibility that a customer will buy the biscuits after sampling them is pretty high as

1. It goes well with tea

2. The waitress bothers to explain every single flavour...

Except me though. I am not a very huge biscuit fan and the each tin cost 35 bucks. Maybe I am just too cheapo. I will just stick to my Royal Coppenhagen for the time being...

Rating - 5/10 (As I said, I am impressed with their marketing strategy but I would still stick to my 7 plus cup of coffee)

Met dear for dinner at Food Republic at Suntec. The Japanese restaurant Hamoru. Cost us less than 10 bucks per person and it quite a good spread... I would say quite value for money...
