Chiso Zanmai

Chiso Zanmai

=================================

I was invited here by a friend. Interesting place. Not the usual jappy places which I usually go to. This place is really one of the cheapest jap buffets around in Singapore. We're talking something like SGD15++/pax for lunch. Which is really good for value.

You get to enjoy the usual sushi, sashimi, some great desserts, the typical japanese hot pots, and other really authentic japanese cuisine.

A perfect place to get value for money japanese food with your friends especially during lunch.

================================

Somehow I've been visiting a few shabu shabu places recently.
Been here twice, really left a good impression on me.

Usually start with a scallop sashimi and sushi platter, (Oops forgot to take a pic of the sushi platter.)
But the sushi was relatively well done. Kinda slow though. Fish was larger than the rice, small bits of rice, just the way I like it so that I don't get too full before the main course. (I'm really against those sushi places which give large lumps of rice to make you full, rice which are as large as the fish slices. Like example..... nvm... I'm sure some of you know the usual places which serve crude sushi...)

Oh well... Love the sushi here, you gotta try some of them....

Shabu shabu.... well... pretty pricy for my liking, but that the usual prices so... cant really complain.
Meats are pretty good, sauces are good. As with all shabu shabu, the temperature control and cooking timing are very key to the whole dish. Mess up the cooking and the meal would probably be not a good experience. Yep... I'm good with my temperature control so... can't really go wrong.

Love this place. Not too expensive overall. Even the sushi's pretty decently priced. SGD1 for a salmon sushi... Heys thats actually cheaper than a lot of places...

Buffet Shabu Shabu.... woooooo yum yum MEAT!!

Well, they serve a nice choice bits of meat for their shabu buffet during their weekend brunch.
$39.90++/pax, 1 hour time frame.

All you can eat wagyu beef, black angus, pork collar, pork belly, chicken thigh.
Tuna/salmon sashimi,
Shitake mushrooms, other types of mushrooms, and vegetables which I didn't bother to order...

Ok I stayed purely on the meats.

The sashimi was a nice way to start the meal. Pretty good. Just the nice amount.

Then came the main course, MEAT!!! (yea if you didn't realise I love my meats.)
What could go wrong with all you can eat wagyu beef, black angus and other nice bits of pork.

I stayed mainly with the meats. Really good stuff. Can't really find anything bad about the meats although some people may like to other the other stuffs. But I came mainly for the meats so I really had my fill.

Of course you'll have to know how to cook them. U know just lightly dip them in the boiling water, learn to control the temperature, shake the meats in the boiling soup for a bit, place them with the peanut sauce and YUM YUM YUM.... you get the picture.

It's really a good place. Service is pretty good too. For the types of meat and the price... well, I'd say... I've paid more for less/worse, definitely a worthy place to visit.

Tai Dong Teochew Braised Duck Rice

This place is very crowded during lunch time... Business is very good and the ducks typically get sold out by lunch time.

Rice

Cabbage - Soft and tasty. Love this dish despite being a non-veggie lover...
