Nevertheless, will try their other food another time!!

Dim Sum at Fortunate Restaurant

Qing Ming is the day where descendants are to pay respect to their ancestors.

In past, most people will go to the cemetery to visit their ancestors during Qing Ming period, i.e. clear the weeds, burn incense etc.

In Singapore, most people will cremate the deceased bodies and store them in the columbarium instead as land is quite limited. Any existing cemeteries will be exhumed in phases over the next few years.

Went to Fortunate for lunch after paying respects to my ancestors...

Fried Carrot Cake

Paper wrapped chicken

Egg Tarts

Baked BBQ Pastries

Fried Dumpling

Chee Cheong Fun

Peking Duck

Scallop dumplings

Char Siew Bun

Pig Trotters with vinegar - This dish is a supposedly for women as it is very nutritious

My Ramblings...

I was quite impressed with the food as it turns out better than the branches at Food Republic (a popular food centre that can be found in Wisma and Suntec).

The ambiance here is very nostalgic as well. Typical HK dim sum style where trays of dim sum were being pushed around and one can order then and there.

Da Wan Zhou (Superbowl) The House of Congee

Went to Superbowl at Boat Quay for lunch a few weeks ago. Heard that the place serves Hong Kong style Cantonese porridge and that this place has been around for very long.

Braised peanuts

艇仔粥 - contains seafood and meat.

Chilli

My Ramblings...

There are many varieties of porridge to choose from and is similar to the century egg porridge at dim sum places.

Unfortunately, I do not have much preference for Cantonese porridge as they are blended.
