Chatterbox @ Mandarin Hotel

Went for the famous $25 dollars chicken rice at Mandarin.

As Mandarin Hotel was going through a revamp, Chatterbox was moved to the Observatory Lounge at the 38th floor...

Sauces - dark sauce, chilli sauce and ginger sauce. All three sauces are great!

Soup

Rice - There's free flow of rice

Chicken - one can choose to have thigh or drumstick

Laksa - There's 3 huge prawns and scallops in this dish.

My Ramblings...

Used to patronize Mandarin Hotel since young.

Although their chicken rice and laksa are the most expensive in Singapore (hawker price would be approximately $5 dollars), the quality of the food is very good.

For the chicken rice, the chicken is succulent and the rice is not oily.
As for the laksa, the ingredients used makes the price worth it.

My Ramblings...

We were initially hesistant on splurging on a buffet dinner. Decided to go ahead after seeing that the BBQ corner served our favourite Boston Lobster. However, we were informed on our second serving that the Boston Lobsters were provided in limited quantities. We were so disappointed.

In addition, I did not have a chance to try their chocolate fountain as the children were playing with it, i.e. eating the food off the fountain and putting it back again. All with the parent's supervision!

Quite disappointed with the buffet. If I knew that was the case, I would have opted for a la carte. Will be so much happier.

My Ramblings...

The ambience at this restaurant is good. Perfect for a romantic occasion where one can hear the waves and admire the ocean view.

In addition, the food served is very good but pricey. We spent approximately S$130 for this meal.
