Xi Yan

We went Xi Yan for Chinese New Year dinner.

Signature Prosperity Yusheng

This is one of the most unique yusheng I have ever seen...

Crackers, sweet sauce and soy sauce with flower shaped wasabi

Yusheng with all the ingredients in..

Yusheng after tossing. This is a lot of vegetables! I am not a vegetable person and this sight definitely looks scary. Surprisingly, it was yummy!

Second dish was golden oyster nuggets with tarocurd sauce

A closer snapshot

Third dish was abalone ginseng chicken soup.

Stir fried prawns in spicy preserved beancurd sauce

Salivating chicken with century eggs and konnyaku noodles

Zhenjiang spareribs

Shrimp paste fish with pomelo salad.
I love this dish a lot. Esp the pomelo!

Lastly, palm sugar ice cream on pandan rice with coconut cream

My Ramblings....
I love this place. The food is good and the style of cooking is very different.
They only serve set menus here and the food served for each menu depends on the week or month.
They are serving lobster meal from 28 February to 27 March.

My Ramblings...

The sharkfin was so good. Cannot be compared with those served in restaurants. And, the sharkfin used are authentic ones. So you are paying for the quality of the sharkfin. If you want to learn how to tell the difference, this is the best place to begin with....

Overall, the food was very good. One interesting dish we ordered was crocodile fin. Was quite surprised at the way it tasted. I have tried crocodile meat at other restaurant before. Nothing fantastic but the fin was real good.

It was tangy, chewy and melts in your mouth. The texture is very gooey and it is a whole new experience although one piece may not be satisfying enough. However, having two pieces may be too much.

I would definitely come here again for my authentic dose of sharkfin.

CNY Dinner - Shore Restaurant Pte Ltd

My Ramblings...

The food was great! The chilli crab was quite good though. However, parking is quite troublesome if there are any major events on that day.

This place has quite good ambience although I am a bit spoilt by the view I enjoyed in Bali.
