$3 Sweet potato

Bought this at Isetan Shikoku fair. Coated with 8 yr old honey... Bliss~

Today's fair was a bit disappointing.
Did not managed to find sufficient food for our breakfast.

Most of the food items are meant to be consumed at home, such as yuzu drink, yuzu vinegar, black sesame spread, green tea, udon, miso paste etc.

I did managed to try a piece of the $60 plus melon though =)

Isetan Fair - Hokkaido

Hokkaido Fair is here.
This time round, it was first held at Isetan Orchard.
After which, the fair was held at Isetan Tampines.

During our visits to Isetan Orchard, we had:

Takoyaki (Scallops and Octopus versiosn) - We still prefer the Octopus ones as we could barely taste the scallops

Grilled Seafood - Salmon belly and scallops - Salmon belly too salty, Scallops nothing great. The usual seasoned ones are better.

Grilled Squid - Tasteless and Gross

Crab and Sea Urchi Bento - Nice

Bought the cheese tarts - Last year this was completely sold out. Not bad - There are still a few boxes left in Tampines yesterday.

This is how it looked like

Curry Bun from Pullman Bakery - Been having it at least once every week these days...

And of course, bought several boxes of Shiroi Koibito. They were all snapped up in Tampines.
Only thing that I did not managed to get was the wafer biscuits. Will get it the next time I am there...

Ah Yat - Promotional Set Menu

We just learnt that Allson Hotel has changed its name to Hotel Grand Pacific.
I have to remember that.

We tried their special promotional menu.
Slight variant from our usual set menu.

Chicken Salad

Buddha jumps over the wall - the highlight

Breaded crab claw

Goose web with Mexico abalone wedge

Vegetables

Ice cream with pulau hitam

Bird nest egg tarts

Rating:

My Ramblings...
As usual, the buddha jumps over the wall and abalone makes the set menu value for money.
The mexican abalone wedge and bird nest egg tart makes everything worth it.

I still miss the egg tarts sold in Malaysia's Ah Yat. You can really taste the bird nest in it.

Sentosa Escapade at The Sentosa Resort & Spa

We were supposed to meet up with a couple of friends to go to Sentosa.
And while we were waiting for the "Gathering" time, we went for a nice cuppa of coffee at Max Brenner at Vivo City.

Dear ordered the Hug Mug

While I ordered the Kanga Roo

Nothing impressive though.
Coffee is too thick to my liking.

Still prefer to be able to choose the coffee beans.

While we were at Sentosa, we went around looking for a nice place to laze around.
Shangri-La was closed for renovation. Hence, unable to try their afternoon tea which I have always wanted.
Resorts World Sentosa was packed and the food was very expensive. A typical set meal can easily cost 20 or 30 bucks.

And so, we went to The Terrace at The Sentosa Resort & Spa (formerly known as Beaufort)
Ordered The Sentosa Burger and laze our afternoon away.

It consists of back bacon and portobello mushrooms, tomato marmalade and cheddar cheese.

It comes with potato wedges too.

My Ramblings...
The combination of bacon, portobello mushrooms and egg was heavenly and worth every single cent of it.

Cant wait to try their seafood buffet the next time I am here.

Opera in the Park

Went with colleagues to see the annual Opera in the Park by Singapore Lyric Opera at Botanic Gardens.

This was my very first time watching opera in the outdoors.

Each of us chipped in to get food, drinks, cutlery etc.

We had food from SomethingToGo, which is a drive-through gourmet delicatessen at The Regent Singapore.

Pasta Salad

Samosa

Chicken and beef satays with sweet and juicy pineapples

Mini Burgers and Sandwiches

My Ramblings...
Enjoying opera with great company, delicious food paired with nice wine.
What else can anyone ask for? =p

My Ramblings...
The desserts and wine go along very well.
Each of them bring out the taste and flavour of the other.

Pricy though.
