Ministry of Food

Went to try the food at Ministry of Food - Izakaya, also known as MOF.

Sashimi - It was so good, especially the hotate...

My set - Salmon Shabu Shabu

The Salad...

Salmon...

Dear's set - Seafood Toji

Correct method of having Shabu Shabu?
1. Cook the salmon into the hot soup. The duration is determined by the time taken to recite "shabu shabu".

2. Dip the cooked salmon into the apple sauce...

Miso Soup - Very different from the conventional miso soup...

My Ramblings:

I am very impressed with the quality of food and their service. For every meal that is served, we could find a few coupons with it. One of it will provide a short description of the dish while the other will be a complementary coffee coupon.

The whole concept is great but the term izakaya is not appropriate. Their specialities are desserts rather than sake. In Japan, izakaya are small and dimly-lit places where people can sit and sip their sake and have some food at the same time. One such place in Singapore will be Tamaya at Cuppage (at the first level).

I am fussy, I know...

NYDC

Went out with Elena on Friday and we went to NYDC for some desserts...

She ordered the cheesecake combo...

And I ordered my all-time favourite - Chocolate Addiction (contains white, milk and dark chocolate)

Topped with a Lime Sherbet...

My Ramblings:

Overall, the desserts was great. One thing I regretted though - I should have changed the flavour of my ice cream when she told me it was hard. Did not expect it to be ice-kachang type.

Peanut butter cookie

My Ramblings:

Was disappointed at the size of the Turkey. Last year was so much bigger.

One thing which I liked about the feast is the logcake - It was the only logcake which I liked. Not too creamy yet delicous, paired with roasted almonds. Yummy.

Christmas Meal - Goodwood Coffee Lounge

Went with dear to Goodwood for Set Dinner yesterday in the end.

Our first dish - Bread n butter

Appetizer - Salmon roll with asparagus

Dish - Pork Ribs

Guess what's next...

Hainanese turkey with rice ball... Aint it cool...

Condiments...

With a cup of coffee...

And free flow of desserts like bread pudding...

Strawberry shortcake and Chocolate and Green Tea marble cake

Chocolate tart and Mango tart

Chestnut eclair and cakes

Mango sago with pomelo

Logcakes and hazelnut cake

Passion fruit ice cream with fruits

Biscuit. I suspect this is with marzipan filling...

My Ramblings:

I love the combination. Enjoy a simple dinner and feast during desserts. Totally my style.. Keke...

I love their desserts. The quality is very good although this is a buffet. Normally, the quality of the desserts served are quite ok-ish. But, the one we had was fantastic. I love the tarts, especially the chocolate ones. Can't help but taking more...

Overall, the experience was good, especially when I ended it with a cup of coffee that enhances the whole dessert feasting..
