My Ramblings...

This place is located at the food centre next to Allson Hotel. The stall opens only at night. Served good and thick porridge paired with frog dishes.

Patronized this shop since young. Used to be one of my favourite supper places. They use the entire frog to cook the their dishes! No innards in the porridge though.

Blk 85 Bedok market

Went with Yi An to Bedok for dinner. So much cheaper than having it at Lau Pa Sat.

Stingray from Chan's BBQ (my fav shop)

Fried Chicken Wings

Fried Oyster Omelette

Minced Meat Noodle (one of the must try specialities)

My Ramblings...

I love their teas! As for the cakes, somehow I still prefer the Singapore Surprise.

On my latest visit, noted that they have changed their staff to local. Still remembered my first few visits where almost half of their staff are caucasians.. Maybe that was during the initial stage of helping TWG to establish their store in Singapore. I am impressed with their knowledge of tea . They can custom made teas to suit one's preference.

Have not attempted to ask any of the local staff yet. Will do one of these days to see how is their proficiency on tea is...

This is a good place for catch-up with friends whilst feeling like a tai-tai.

Champagne Event @ Rogues

We went for the Champagne Tasting Event at Rougues on Monday.

At the event, we sampled a total of 4 wines. Food was also served.

My Ramblings...

I was very very disappointed with the event. Firstly, we were not informed that any additional drinks will be paid separately. It was only until our drinks were served that we realised that this was not part of the event. Initially, we thought that it was just us. After a few observations, I realised that most patrons are not aware of it as well. It would have been better if there is a simple menu on the table, highlighting what is to be expected.

The whole event was like just sitting down and chatting with friends and not knowing what will happen next. The food was served at 8pm to 8.30pm, which was like after the second wine.

One thing which I was very upset of was insufficient food and bad service. There wasnt enough food to go around and there is only one chef in the kitchen preparing. The kitchen was located some distance away from the restaurant and you can see that one pathetic chef preparing all the food while there are 3 to 4 waitress looking.

The service was so bad. While the waitress was serving, her whole tray of wine glasses toppled and spilled over the place. Not once but twice!! In addition, the waitress could not be bothered to answer any queries posed by patrons.

This falls below my expectations of the place as I have heard good reviews about the events held at Rogues....

Thaipan @ Changi

Went for lunch at this restaurant called ThaiPan after the short hike at Changi Walkabout. This place is located at Civil Service Club, which is directly opposite Changi Village Hotel.

My Ramblings...

The food served is pretty good. However, the location of the restaurant is out of the way for most people.
