Thailand - MK Suki

Went to MK Suki during my last training at Bangkok.

We ordered a variety of Thailand food, i.e. Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Green Chicken Curry etc.

Taiwan - Fu Hang Soy Milk 阜杭豆漿

Fu Hang Soy Milk (阜杭豆漿) is a very popular breakfast place in Taiwan.
It is located at Hua Shan market, which is at the Exit 5 of Shandao Temple station.

The queue was long but still manageable as we were there quite early, i.e. 9am.

There's a map to even guide you on the proposed queue format. Wow!

The place where the shao bing are made.

There were lots of Japanese tourists too. I was initially worried that they may find difficulty ordering the food., especially since the menu is in Chinese.
But, all counter service staff can speak Japanese very fluently.

We ordered both sweet (right) and salty soy milk (left).
I still prefer the sweet version.
The salted version is nice but it taste like soup with several ingredients, i.e. spring onion, shrimps, dough fritters, vinegar etc.

We ordered Dough Fritters and Shaobing with egg.
Both were crispy and oily.
It goes very well with my sweet cold soy milk. Yummy!

Taiwan - Hello Kitty Sweets

After hearing all the raves about Hello Kitty Sweets, I just have to visit the cafe as I am a huge Hello Kitty fan!

I collect Hello Kitty merchandise.
But, I am quite fussy about the design on the merchandise.

Ok, so back to the Hello Kitty Sweets.

Hello Kitty Sweets is located near Zhongxiao Fuxing station (Exit 3).
It is a short walk away and you can easily spot the shop from far.
Its open from 11.30am to 10pm.

Reservations is important as it is very popular regardless of the time of the day.
We went without making any reservations.
Despite being past lunch time, there was a huge group of people outside the shop.
Everyone were there to make reservations for tea / dinner as lunch was full.

The number to call will be +886 2 2711 1132.
However, I would encourage you to read the entire post before you decide to make a booking...

You will need to observe the following rules at the cafe:
1. There is a time limit of 90 minutes for you to eat and take pictures
2. Each person must spend at least TWD 300 (which works out to SGD 12)

All the Hello Kitty inspired cakes and pastries...

2nd floor dining area - more Hello Kitty decor!

This is the chocolate smoothie with biscuit. It cost TWD 230 (i.e. SGD 10)

There's a cute little hello kitty

This cake is very pretty but contains lots of cream. It cost TWD 280 (i.e. SGD 12)

We ordered a Kitty Cheese Tart set. It cost TWD 340 (i.e. SGD 14) and comes with a drink (worth TWD 180). Had to top up TWD 50 as I ordered a slightly expensive drink.

This is the Strawberry Cocoa drink. Taste a bit like latte.

The whole experience was pretty good, until I went to the toilet.
Yes, there is a nice plush pink armchair inside and some hello kitty decor.
But, the toilet looks like an ordinary public toilet with Hello Kitty decor.
My partner told me that the mens toilet has no decor at all.

Very very disappointed.
Just one more place to decor...

Cointreau Event : "One Night in Singapore"

We were very fortunate to be invited to the first "One Night in Singapore" by-invite only party at Gem Bar on 20 September. There are two other parties lined up in Singapore and will be hosted by Judee Tan and Patricia Mok.

Cointreau will launch similar events in each country, i.e. Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Philippines and Indonesia. The final mega party will be held on 23 November in Bangkok. The venue will be at The Peninsular.

The tagline for the parties will be "Cointreauversal".

We managed to try only two of the three Cointreau cocktail drinks.

Cointreau Fizz

Cointreaupolitan (this is my favourite drink)
It's light and sweet. Consists of 50ml Cointreau, 20 ml lime juice and 30 ml cranberry juice.
