Finally tried the dim sum at the famous Lei Garden at Chijmes.

P.S - It is still alive. The eyes were moving. Ewww..

My Ramblings...
As you notice, we always ordered the same old dishes at every dim sum place.
This helps to benchmark against other dim sum restaurants that we go to.

Lei Garden is at the same level as Crystal Jade Palace.
Slightly more expensive dim sum.

I am however not very impressed that they use the wrong character for Singapore. The first word is wrong already. It should be  and not 星!!!!

Kinara

Went for a BBQ session catered by Kinara Indian cuisine on the eve of National Day.

The meats

There was a special oven to cook the meats...

The skewers used.

Can you see the naan by the side of the oven?

Cooking process of naan and meats
The meats and vegs - tandoori chicken, cottage cheese, fish etc.
There were also other dishes served, i.e. hyderabadi, biryani, papadum and naan

Dessert - Goolab Jamun
This is real sweet, fried milk dumplings soaked in maple syrup..
My Henna Body Art
Erm apparently, it can last from 1 to 6 weeks...

Ye Lai Xiang - Cheng Ting

Heard loads of ramblings about the famous Cheng Ting at Bedok Food Centre.

I just have to try it for myself!!!

I was the 10th person in the queue on a Sunday afternoon.

There are three sizes available - small, big and special.

  • If you are having there, the pricing for small is $1.50, big is $2 and special is $3. By default, the sizing will be Big.
  • If you are having takeaway, the pricing for small is $2 while big and special is $3.

Of course, we ordered the Special size!

My Ramblings...
The ingredients in the Cheng Ting was at least 2 times as generous as a typical Cheng Ting that you find elsewhere.
Love it so much that we went back again the following week.
Fortunately, the queue was significantly shorter as it was the fasting month.
Aspire to go there every week from now onwards!!!

Business class vs Economy Class

A quick comparison of a typical meal served at Business Class vs Economy class.

My Ramblings...
I love this event!
The food is good and the ambience is great!
It's really the way to have a great celebration.

If I had to choose two of my favourite dishes, it would be Olive Oil- Roasted Vine Tomato & Sweet Soy and Sliced semi-fatty southern bluefin tuna!

The pairing of juicy tomatoes with olive oil is heavenly.
It just makes you want to get more.

As for the blue fin tuna on wanton skin, it is simple yet indulgent.
