Fou de Fafa

Decided to try this new place out as we saw the huge pizza served the last time we passed by...

Ordered the Pascal Pizza - ham, bacon, sausage etc.
Rating:

My Ramblings...
Was quite disappointed. I find the pizza overpriced. It cost about 28 dollars and the "pizza" gives me the feeling of having salad on top of a thin biscuit like crust.

Yuan Ji Zhen Zhong Carrot Cake

Went to Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple at Waterloo street one day and bought these longevity buns to eat.

Then, went to Albert Court to buy my favourite carrot cake!
This cost $2 only!

My Ramblings...
This is one of my favourite carrot cake stores.
What's so great about this carrot cake?
1. The portion served during takeaways was huge
2. The carrot cake taste just as good when you take it a few hours later.

Ootoya

Came across this restaurant when I passed by Long Xia Zhou Shi Jia the week before.

Decided to try Ootaya as it very crowded the other time.

I ordered the Oyster set (which contains 693kcal)

Hiroshima oysters served in a steamer filled with rice

Vegetables in miso

Side dishes

My friend ordered the Scallop set menu (693kcal)
Scallops from Mutsu Bay in a steamer filled with rice

Tofu and chicken

My Ramblings...
The food served is a bit too healthy for my liking.
There descriptive phrases to describe my meal - Not salty, soupy and loads of vegetables (which is the least of preference).

But, I am quite impressed with the place though. They compiled a list for their food which may impact people with certain allergies...

Yes, it is a bit late to post these as we were too busy eating all the various festive items during that period.

My Ramblings...
If you are looking for a decent buffet place besides Ritz, you may want to consider Melt.
In terms of quality, it is pretty good except for the BBQ items.
The chef took several times to the items cooked without being burnt.

Osvaldo Ristorante Italiano

Decided to bring Dear to Osvaldo Ristorante Italiano.
This restaurant is located at Maxwell Chambers.

Bread basket

Parma Ham with Burrata Cheese and Cherry Tomatoes (P.S - This is one person's portion only)

Rabbit Meat

Lamb Shank stewed with mash potatoes

My Ramblings...
We loved the parma ham and burrata cheese but we were quite disappointed with the main dishes.

For me, this was the first time trying rabbit meat.
I was a bit nervous I must say.
Was disappointed with it as the the meat was tough and it does not give the wow feeling that I was hoping for after hearing so many raves about rabbit meat.

As for the lamb shank, we had similar or better quality at a lower price.

Overall, I may come back again as I liked the ambience but will not try the rabbit and lamb shank anymore!

Royal Coppenhagen

After shopping, we went to Royal Coppenhagen for tea.

As you can see from my earlier post, I have this soft spot for places that use nice dinnerware, especially those that you will not buy just to use it at home. Fancy a $100 plate to be used at home? (You know what I mean?)

Ordered a Darjeeling Tea

With scones

My Ramblings...
I am not impressed anymore!

They do not allow two people to share a pot of tea. And they kept insisting that the tea is meant for one person. I still remembered how hard it was to finish one pot of tea by myself. Then I realised that the amount of water has been halved.

Will prefer to go to Shangri-La anytime.
