I have learnt...

that bird nest and coconut does not taste good as the coconut overpowers the expensive birdnest...

Botak Jones

Heard many ravings on Botak Jones.

Botak Jones is mainly located in the food centres in the heartlands.
They are very popular in western food, especially the beef burgers.
It is supposedly to be value for money.

Due to religious reasons, am unable to try the beef burgers for myself.
Instead, we ordered several non-beef items and we are impressed.

Cajun Chicken Burger with Spicy Fries and Double Baked Cheese Potato

Bar-B-Qued Chicken Wings

Fish and Chips

My Ramblings...
The food is good.
However, it is inconveniently located in and hence would not be keen to travel all the way just to eat it.

7th Storey Restaurant

This is the Marina Barrage - Singapore's 15th reservoir and the first in the city.

Went to the 7th Storey Restaurant as have had many ravings about it, especially since the 7th storey hotel is slated for demolished.

We had the Charcoal Steamboat - the most basic set.
They have the Geoduck Set, as well as the Seafood Set.

The basic set includes vegetables, eggs, meat, as well as seafood.
The difference between the basic set and seafood set is due to the scallops, clams etc.

We also had the Hainanese Pork Chop

My Ramblings...
For people who had the steamboat, they are required to sit outside.
As the outside very hot and stuffy, it makes steamboat a challenge for many people.

In terms of food, it is okay but I would prefer to go to somewhere with aircon for steamboat...

Greenhouse

We had buffet at Greenhouse at Ritz Carlton for 2 consecutive week and I am a happy girl!

This is the festive menu for 2009.

The highlights of the buffet are:

Poached Boston Lobster

Pan fried slipper lobsters

Drunken Prawns

And of course, sashimi and oysters...

Scallops

Huge crab claw

Desserts

Caramelized Banana

My Birthday Cake

My Ramblings...
This will be the place for future buffets session.
It used to be Conrad but they have removed the Boston Lobsters from their menu.

One thing I like about this place - they do serve desserts from their deli occasionally.
Not many places do and I am very impressed.

Although it is a bit pricy (i.e. $76 per person), it serves quality food.

Home Delivery - Ponggol Seafood

Tried the home delivery for Punggol Seafood.

The food comes packed in a box.

Lemon Chicken

Baby Squids

Chilli Crabs

And the buns..

My Ramblings...
I must say I am very impressed as they are the first (and still are) seafood restaurant to offer delivery service.

Went to try their chilli crab as they are popular.
There is no doubt a varying taste preference for chilli crabs. I guess I am more inclined to long beach (eggy sauce) and no signboard (tomato based sauce).

Nevertheless, would definitely recommend Punggol Seafood if you would like to have seafood at the comfort of your house.

Tian Fu Teahouse @ UOB Plaza

Went to Tian Fu Teahouse for tea during one of the weekends...

The layout of the place was cosy.

We ordered the Imperial High Tea set. It cost $18++ per person. This set provides tea pairing with various dishes. The menu changes every now and then. At that point when we went, the dishes served is as follows:

Baimu Dan Tea

Longjing Tea

Xiao Long Bao

Steamed Rice Cake with Minced Prawns

Pan-fried Yam Cake and Waxed Meat

Panfried glutinous rice cake bun with conpoy

Fenghuang Dancong Tea
This is my favourite tea!

Chilled Noodle with Spicy Sauce

Steamed sponge cake

Deep fried bittergourd riceball with black sesame

Homemade beancurd with water chestnut

My Ramblings...

A good place to go for tea lover or if you are looking for a place to meet up with friends and enjoy the skyline of the flyer.

Home Delivery - The Shepherd's Pie

I have recently started trying out places for takeaways...
Realised it is a challenge to find places with takeaways, besides pizza and who is able to deliver anytime etc.

Came across this place that serve Shepherd's Pie. There are various types available - chicken, beef, lamb and even vegetables. There are two versions - Classic and Black Pepper.

I have tried the Classic Chicken.
Loved it a lot as the the chicken is marinated in BBQ sauce, which makes it unique and less ge-lat.

My Ramblings...
One of my favourite place for takeaways.
The price is quite reasonable, i.e. $23.90 for a shepherd pie that can serve 4 people.
Operating hours are from 11am to 9pm. Hence, this would not be a good candidate for supper.
