My Ramblings...

The food is overrated. Only one thing met our expectations and that is, the octopus fishcake.

1. The takoyaki has too much dough in it such that we could not find any bits of scallops.
In addition, the lady selling takoyaki insisted that we pay at the booth itself.
Hence, we needed to look for more purchases to hit the $50 for the lucky draw.
We later found out that each booth provides the option of paying at the booth or at the Isetan cashier. We felt so cheated!

2. The crab bento was too expensive for the amount of crab.

3. The scallop buns has two scallops inside, with cream like filling.
The taste is quite good except that it is too rich and finishing it was challenging.

4. The octopus fishcake was the best dish as it tasted exactly like what I expected it to be - a fishcake with octopus bits.

5. Finally, the taraba crab bun was creamy with chopped pickles (the kind you find in a Macdonald Fillet O Fish). You cannot really taste the crab as the cream sauce and pickles overwhelm the crab.

Somehow I cannot believe that the Hokkaido Fair has scored only 1 heart. Hence, I will give them a second chance this weekend. Stay Tuned.
