Festiva @ Galaxy Macau

We happened to chance upon this buffet place.
Buffet dinner starts at 6pm and it cost MOP 318 per person (approximately SGD 50 per person).

The scallops were huge

Roast pigeon, peking duck and roast chicken

Lamb Chop - Do not like this because of its lamb taste.

Noodles - I love this a lot. The soup is simple yet flavourful. Noodles were soft and springy.

This was disappointing - the package looks huge but...

the contents aren't. This is from the teppanyaki counter.

Pumpkin soup and steak

I love the ambience. It is nice and peaceful.
Some of my creativity..

Strawberry crepes

Ice cream

The cakes were displayed in a glass chiller.

Mixed fruits

Bread and butter pudding, cinnamon rolls etc.

They have a very interesting bread section.

Apple bread and beetroot cheese bread.

There is a special kids section as well.

My Ramblings...
I love the ambience.
The spread may not be as wide but I feel less stressful here.

The only thing that would make this experience better will be to have a free flow of coffee and tea, rather than just 1 cup.

Macau Escapade - Lord Stow Egg Tarts

Finally, the famous egg tart is in Venetian Macau!

You can also view the baking process in the shop

My Ramblings...
I love it. Sweet and creamy.
Was so close to buying a few boxes back.

Macau Escapades - The Grand buffet @ Grand Lisboa

This is the longest buffet in Asia at 70 metres and cost about MOP 258 per person (approximately SGD 41 per person).
There are two sessions for dinner buffet, one at 6pm and the other at 8.30pm.
The buffet includes one cup of coffee, tea or iced lemon tea.

One thing about this buffet - you really have to walk till the very end as you may miss out a buffet section if you don't. For example, I was wondering where do people get ice cream and candy floss and when I walk till the end, I realise that there are buffet sections that I have missed from both ends of the buffet line. Scary~

Continuous line of people

The salmon sashimi was very thickly cut.
Also, the BBQ prawns was yummy.

Boiled prawns
Roast meat was thick and juicy.
Sirloin was nice, meaty and tender.

My favourite is the mussels and its sauce

Rib eye, ham, satay and oysters (clockwise)

This is the highlight of them all - I have never been to a buffet spread so far that serve abalone (in its shell). This is the counter with the continuously long queues.

A variety of desserts - as this is one day after the Mid Autumn Festival, traditional mooncakes were served. It is very good - yolk was oily and the lotus paste was good. The desserts served was interesting, such as almond pudding from sesame paste (the one with a black topping at the top) or yam (the one with purple topping at the top), orange pudding (the one in orange) etc.

Crepes (I am not very good at decorating)

There are waiter who will serve you the cake.
This is good as you will have proper cake slices.

My Ramblings...
Food is good but ambience as not.
The place is literally a war zone.
Queues formed outside the restaurant about 10 to 15 min before the buffet starts.

With the ultra long buffet lines, it does create some stress here and there.

Lawry's The Prime Rib (Mandarin Gallery)

When I was young, the only place that I had steak was Jack Place.

For some reasons, I have stopped taking beef for about 6 years.
A year ago, I tried the famous Kobe beef in Japan.
It was so good, with its proportion of meat and fat makes it melt in your mouth.

I have never tried steaks in a fine dining setting before as we would rather spend the same amount on a champagne brunch that served a wide variety of food (such as foie gras, fine de claire oysters etc).

Recently, there was a 1 for 1 main course promotion for Lawry and we went to give it a try.

I love the restaurant setting. It is very grand and makes you feel like you are currently in Europe. Only problem is we had a window seat, facing Heeren.

Ordered a glass of red wine from France
Bread - I prefer the brown bread. It is soft.
The Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad
What happened was their is a salad mixing bowl on top of a bed of ice.
The waitress then put the ingredients in and mix it while she spins the bowl.
After which, the salad is served on a cold plate with cold fork.
Whipped Cream Horseradish to go with the steak - one of which taste like wasabi
Capsule-like carving station
We ordered the The Lawry's Cut (approximately SGD 82.90)
The prime rib dinner consists of Idaho mashed potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding.
For side dishes, I ordered the Creamed Corn, Creamed Spinach and Buttered Peas to go with the Medium steak
This is my boyfriend's Well Done steak.
Yorkshire Pudding

My Ramblings...
The steaks were heavenly.
It was thick and melts in your mouth.
It is worth every single cent (even without the 1 for 1 promotion).

To pay $100 for such quality meat provides with you similar satisfaction as a champagne brunch. It just depends on your purpose of this meal.

The next place that we wanted to go - Morton!

Feng shui Inn

Went for dim sum at Feng Shui Inn again.

This time round, we ordered some interesting dim sum, in addition to our usual orders.

Pineapple Bun (i.e. Bo Lo Bun) - I love the filling - the char siew is chunky and the sauce is very thick!
Fried Carrot Cake - I do not really like this. Huge chucks and dry
Sliced fish
Chestnut drink
Lobster puff - sweet and savoury

My Ramblings...
Somehow, I felt that their standard dropped a bit.

The ambience does not feel as luxurious anymore.
One good example is the side dishes served.
Previously, their side dishes has scallop in it.
Now, there is nothing (my earlier entry)

But, all the cutlery are from Narumi.

51 Soya Bean Vs Lao Ban Soya Beancurd

Heard many raves about the beancurd stores at Old Airport Road - forever long queues all day long, possibility of being sold out etc.
I just have to try it for myself! We went at 10am in the morning.
I tried this a week ago. My brother bought this home the week before.

I really liked the texture. Light and soft, similar to jelly.

Lao Ban was only available at 11.30am. It was located near a famous kway chap stall, were queues formed even before the stall opens (Hmmm. will try this one of these days). We had to make sure we spotted the right queue for Lao Ban.

The texture is harder as compared to the earlier one. Beancurd is thicker and harder too. Similar to agar agar.

Both stores serve cold beancurd.

My Ramblings...
Worthwhile experience.
