CNY - Dragon Phoenix

Went with my family for a Chinese New Year dinner at Dragon Phoenix. Ordered the Bountiful Treasures set, worth about $468++ for 10 people.

During CNY, restaurants will have a range of set menus catering for groups of different sizes. The typical range for a 10 people meal can cost about 500 dollars and above.

The table setting (If you note, there is a yellow card, which provides a step by step instruction of how to proceed with the Yusheng).

The Original Yusheng (since 1963)

Braised Sharkfin with Crab Meat & Crab Roe

Poached Lived Prawns with Chinese Wine

Roasted Crispy Chicken

Steamed Live Sea Bass

Braised Sea Cucumber with Mushrooms

Stewed E Fu Noodles

And a Special New Year Dessert...

My Ramblings...

Their service is good. As we had this CNY lunch during weekdays, the time taken to serve the entire menu took approximately an hour. In addition, the service was very good.

Understand that they have this value-added service, i.e. at the end of your meal, you will be presented with 4 vouchers and you have to pick and order them so that you can use the last number of every voucher to derive your lucky 4D number.

Innovative.

The only thing that I did not like was the Yusheng as I can taste the ginger in it. But, the crackers was the best I have ever had. Crispy yet different from the other yusheng which I had before.
