Christmas set meal @ Ichiban

We went to try out the Festive Season Meals at Ichiban.

Dear's set (Mansai Wazen) - comprises of BBQ eel, assorted tempura, spicy chicken teriyaki don, tuna mayo with potato salad, miso soup, appetizer and fruit.

Mine (Hokkai Wazen) - comprises of squid with garlic sauce, BBQ eel don, salmon sashimi, chawanmushi, appetizer, miso soup and fruit.

Close-up pictures of my set...

Salmon sashimi.. not as thick slices as Sushi Tei but pretty reasonable compared to other sushi joints.

Too much garlic though

My favourite - BBQ eel don (although I forgot to ask them to remove the onions)

My Ramblings...

The season sets are good. Quite value for money though (as in about 20 plus dollars or so). This is in comparison with the set meals that we used to have at their sister company, Kuriya (typically about 35 onwards).

For their regular menu, there is a variety of items that are very good, one of which their anago sushi - is an eel dish, just that the sauce used is not BBQ. This is the only sushi joint I know that serves this dish in Singapore.

In terms of service, pretty good as we are their regular customers...
